This project was completed as part of the MecE 464 Design for Manufacturing course at the University of Alberta. Utilizing a variety of 3D printing including FDM, and SLS carbon fibre components, as well as laser cutting, and waterjet cutting. This group project focused on Design for Manufacture and Design for Assembly principles, while also stressing practical manufacturing skills like soldering and basic machine shop use.
Project Goal: Utilize unique manufacturing methods to construct a quadcopter with the ability to launch projectiles.
Design Requirements:
A total weight of 700 g
Maximum flight time of at least 8 minutes
Ability to easily attach and remove a ping pong ball launcher
Launch at least 3 ping pong balls while in flight
POV Camera stabilization
