This project was completed as part of the MecE 467 Modeling and Simulations course at the University of Alberta. The course primarily dealt with the graphical and numerical simulation of physical systems.
For our final project we were given some flexibility, and my partner and I chose to learn more about machine learning and neural networks through an image recognition project.
The pretrained network we selected was trained to recognize a specific target object (hoop) at a variety of different distances within a limited range.
Software Used:
MATLAB Support Package for USB Webcams
Image Acquisition Toolbox Support Package for OS Generic Video Interface
Computer Vision System Toolbox
Image Processing Toolbox
Image Acquisition Toolbox
Control System Toolbox
Deep Learning Toolbox
Neural Network Toolbox Model for ALexNet Network
